The Centre national de la recherche scientifique (National Center for Scientific Research) is a public research organization. Under the responsibility of the French Ministry of Education and Research, the CNRS has the mission to produce knowledge and bring this knowledge among the society.


IRSTEA

The National Institute of Sciences and Technology for Environment and Agriculture (Institut National de Recherche en Sciences et Technologies pour l’Environnement et l’Agriculture) works on the major issues of responsible farming and sustainable land management, water management and the associated risks, drought, floods, inundations, the study of complex ecosystems and biodiversity in their relationship with human activities.

CEREMA

Cerema is a resource centre for scientific and technical expertise, in support of the definition, implementation and evaluation of public policies, carried by national and local authorities in fields of sustainable development.


IGN

The National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information (Institut National de l’Information Géographique et Forestière) is a public establishment, whose main vocation is to describe the surface and land use of the national territory, from a geometric and physical perspective, and also to work out and update the permanent inventory of the national forest resources.


Météo-France is the French national meteorological service. This is a scientific and technical institution whose main mission is to alert the authorities and populations of hazardous weather. This mission requires a 24 / 24 and 365 days monitoring of the atmosphere, snow cover and the ocean surface.

CIRAD

The organization for international cooperation in agricultural research for development (Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement) works in partnership with diverse Southern countries to generate and pass on new knowledge, support agricultural development and fuel the debate on the main global issues concerning agriculture.


INRA

The first institute for agricultural research in Europe and second in the world, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (Institut National de Recherche Agronomique) leads finalized research for a healthy and high quality diet, a competitive and sustainable agriculture and a protected and valued environment.


National d’Etudes et Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA) is the French national aerospace research center.
