THEIA group of experts in Albedo brings together teams from Cesbio and Emmah laboratories in order to develop a mapping of spectral and broadband surface albedos. The users are the scientific community involved in energy balances and change detection.

The product resulting from the Albedo SEC is updated with a decadal to monthly frequency. It has a resolution of 10 to 20 m and covers France and the selected areas for Sentinel 2 levels 2A and 3A production.

The data used come from Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 high-resolution optical imagery.

Schedule

• 2017: Demonstration products over France
• 2018: Development of an automatic processing chain
• 2020: Prototyping of an automatic processing chain
• 2021: Working toward production
