Presentation

On 9 April 2018, Theia Land Cover SEC published the 2nd land use map of metropolitan France, automatically produced from Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B data. It updates the first land cover map of metropolitan France, which was produced in March 2017 using Sentinel-2 data from late 2015 to late 2016 and Landsat-8 data.

  • sunflower: 9
  • corn: 10
  • rice: 11
  • tubers/roots: 12
  • grasslands: 13
  • orchards: 14
  • vines: 15
  • hardwood forests: 16
  • coniferous forests: 17
  • lawns: 18
  • woody moors: 19
  • mineral surfaces: 20
  • beaches and dunes: 21
