Theia Risks associated with infectious diseases SEC has mapped the infestation risk by rat fleas of the genus Xenopsylla, vectors of murine typhus, a neglected zoonotic disease that has recently emerged in Reunion Island (2018).
This mapping can be used to predict the incidence of these vectors by carrier mammal, taking into account a series of environmental and climatic factors (temperatures, relief, rainfall). This tool can thus contribute to establishing control strategies adapted to the different micro-regions of the island against these vectors.
