Radar images at very high spatial resolution were acquired in the framework of GEOSUD, a project (ANR-10-EQPX-20) of the program “Investissements d’Avenir” managed by the French National Research Agency. These are images in X-band of TerraSAR-X and Cosmo-SkyMed sensors (wavelength of about 3 cm). The objective of this initiative is to facilitate the access of the scientific community and public stakeholders to radar imagery.
These images were acquired in France and abroad in the context of thematic research projects:
- Mapping sugarcane cut in La Reunion
- Estimation of soil moisture in France (La Crau) and Tunisia
- Monitoring of tidal water bodies in France
- Monitoring of rice in Vietnam
- Monitoring of volcanic activity by radar interferometry
- Mapping and monitoring at fine-scale the vines phenology in Argentina
- Mapping of forest gaps in French Guiana
- Mapping of crops in Senegal (especially millet and groundnut) and monitoring their growth during the rainy season.
