Presentation

The ground surface humidity product provides absolute value data at the global scale with 25 km resolution. These data are acquired at a daily, weekly and monthly frequency. The period covered started in 2002 and is still ongoing.

Measuring Summer 2018 Drought

Here the soil moisture measured by SMOS-IC in July 2017 (left) and July 2018 (right) for Europe. The comparison shows a strong summer deficit in Northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands in 2018.
