SUMMER SCHOOL: REMOTE SENSING OBSERVATIONS FOR THE MONITORING OF WATER AND CARBON CYCLES OVER ECO-AGRO-SYSTEMS

The summer school is organized by CESBIO with the participation of LEGOS within the frame of several networking projects (CHAAMS, ACCWA, IDEWA, ALTOS …). The one-week summer school will provide the attendees a complete perspective from the signal physics of remote sensing data in different wavelengths to applications including soil moisture and land use mapping, evapotranspiration and drought monitoring, observation of the snowpack, deforestation. Some lecture will also be dedicated to methodological aspects such as practical images download and processing with a focus on Sentinel data, data assimilation into land surface models and land surface characteristics retrieval through AI methods.  Theoretical lectures will be complemented by hands-on training. There is no fee for the school but application (see below) is mandatory. Language is English.
