German Aerospace Center call for ideas

Currently DLR prepares a new SAR mission called HRWS. It is planned as a continuation of the TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X missions as part of the national line of X-band sensors. HRWS will allow a new and very flexible Earth observation strategy. A very high spatial resolution of up to 25 cm will enable very detailed analyses. The sensor will also be able to provide data in the established resolution range of 1 to 3 m but with significantly increased spatial coverage.

We are currently collecting the requirements of the international scientific user community with respect to the operation of a single satellite. We have prepared a questionnaire that allows interested scientists to provide ideas and requirements to such a new mission. The questionnaire can be accessed via the TerraSAR-X Science Service System (http://sss.terrasar-x.dlr.de). After login with your investigator account you will find the link “HRWS Questionnaire” on the left side of the page. You can either comment a list of key questions in free text and/or select from predefined configurations the scenario(s), that are best suited for your purposes.

We kindly invite you to spend some time and inform us about your requirements on such a mission.
