Presentation

lidarHD contains tools for downloading and managing files from the French LiDAR HD program. Data are available as tiles grouped by “blocks”. The functions in the package are designed to :

• download files from tiles intersecting an area of interest and save them in “block” folders;
• create catalogues of downloaded files as objects in LAS-catalog format, to facilitate subsequent processing;-
• transform the files to add an attribute containing the height above ground.

LiDAR data can then be used in a wide range of topics, such as forest ecosystems management.
